A Brunch for Seniors & Veterans

The Suitland Recreation Council is excited to team up once again with  A Basket of Cheer Project and our amazing community partners to host our 5th annual Flowers & Conversations spring brunch for seniors in the DMV! This heartwarming event celebrates our elders, offering them an afternoon of connection, conversation, and joy.


WHEN: May 16, 2026 from 11am-3pm


WHERE: St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Temple Hills, MD


WHY: This event will support the seniors by:

✔️ showing them that we care

✔️ having meaningful conversations

✔️ sharing resourceful information

✔️ celebrating them & giving them their flowers now


RESOURCES: Donations needed include:

🖤 2 performers are needed (singer, DJ or comedian, poet)

🖤 3-4 guest speakers are needed

🖤 7 chefs/cooks are needed

🖤 15 food donations are needed

🖤 100 flower donations are needed (real & fake)

🖤 10 goodie bag item donations are needed (100 goodie bags)

🖤 10-15 event day volunteers (adults & youth)
