FOOD SECURITY & COMMUNITY CARE

Nourishing Families. Strengthening Communities.

For more than 30 years, Suitlandfest Community Development Corporation has worked to address food insecurity and improve quality of life for individuals, families, seniors, veterans, and vulnerable populations throughout the communities we serve. Through year-round food assistance, emergency support services, community outreach, and collaborative partnerships, we help ensure residents have access to nutritious food and essential resources during times of need.

Working alongside The New Suitland Recreation Council, A Basket of Cheer, and our affiliates and partners, we provide direct assistance while addressing broader community challenges related to hunger, economic hardship, health disparities, and family stability. Our approach combines immediate relief with long-term community support strategies designed to strengthen households and build resilient communities.

For more than 15 years, A Basket of Cheer has expanded our impact through holiday meal programs, food basket distributions, emergency assistance efforts, and community outreach initiatives that provide hope, dignity, and support to thousands of families annually.
