The Suitlandfest
Community Impact Framework

About Us

For more than 30 years, Suitlandfest Community Development Corporation has strengthened communities through eight interconnected pillars that support families, youth, seniors, veterans, organizations, and neighborhoods year-round. As a trusted community resource hub, we work to improve quality of life by connecting residents to opportunities, resources, education, wellness initiatives, and support services that foster long-term growth and stability.

Together with our sister organizations, The New Suitland Recreation Council and A Basket of Cheer, we have built a collaborative network dedicated to serving the evolving needs of our communities. Through strategic partnerships with residents, businesses, nonprofits, faith institutions, educational organizations, healthcare providers, public safety agencies, government entities, and community leaders, we create meaningful opportunities that strengthen individuals, families, and entire neighborhoods.

What began decades ago as a commitment to community service has evolved into a comprehensive community development model that addresses both immediate needs and long-term solutions. Our work spans food security, health and wellness, financial literacy and economic empowerment, youth development and leadership, AI technology and digital literacy, arts and culture, crisis response and family stabilization, and community partnerships and civic engagement.

Through our longstanding partnership with the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), we have helped support the growth and revitalization of the Suitland community while fostering civic pride, cultural preservation, youth engagement, and community collaboration. Our annual Suitlandfestival, which evolved from the original Suitland Day celebration, serves as a testament to the power of community partnerships and collective action.

Today, Suitlandfest Community Development Corporation serves as a connector, convener, advocate, and catalyst for positive change. We remain committed to ensuring that seniors have access to support services, veterans receive the recognition and resources they deserve, youth are equipped for future success, families have access to critical resources, and communities have the tools necessary to thrive.

Guided by collaboration, service, innovation, and community empowerment, we continue building pathways toward opportunity, resilience, and generational impact for those we serve.
